One thing I am often explaining to colleagues is that video doesn't work for everything. It has to have a clear narrative, strong visuals, and it has to have characters. My business partner and I were inspired by the "Humans of New York" photography when we created our company Thrive Film. The aim of our company is to connect viewers to the characters - the small business owners, non-profit leaders, and others - in their community. I would love to contribute to finding creative, compelling, and clear ways to bring ProPublica's powerful stories to the medium of video.
